Weirdest thing by far. (Cat spinning on floor!)

I swear to God, the Goddesses and the universe…I AM NOT MAKING THIS STUFF UP.

Today my seventeen year old daughter who was home alone, witnessed our cat, who was lying on his side on the wooden kitchen floor, suddenly begin spinning in circles- with no movement of his legs, body etc, just simply appearing as though someone was moving him around in a circular motion as he lay there on his side, on the floor.

The whole time this was happening he was making “annoyed cat sounds’ and looked afraid/confused, she said.
He spun about two and a half times, three times maybe? and then stopped.

He was not having some kind of seizure – was and is otherwise perfectly healthy. (Confirmed by vet.)

There is no physical way possible that the cat could have moved by himself in this motion. My daughter described it as being like “something you would see in a horror movie” as it was so bizarre to witness.

There have been a few occasions when the cat has been flaked out on the floor as he does, when my daughter has actually, (messing around playfully – but gently) “spun him round in circles”….It’s amusing to watch because he’s so relaxed that he just doesn’t react. “Yeah whatever…just let me chill here.” kind of thing.
However…something else UNSEEN doing it isn’t nearly as amusing -apparently not to the cat either.

My daughter is now pretty freaked out because this is part of a long list of “events” that have been taking place, which appear to be escalating.
To recap – we constantly hear footsteps, loud bangs (Like a bird flying into a window) The ceiling fan has started rotating when it’s switched off, objects have fallen off shelves and benches, curtains that were wide open have been shut . I myself have been “poked” in the arm, hard, during the night,- have felt something repeatedly kicking the couch that I was lying on. My eldest daughter has been touched – felt like something has “sat on her lap” and for a thankfully brief period of time,, not too long ago I blogged about, our usually very placid “Mr Chill” cat began to act very strangely, attacking and biting us for NO reason. (I promise you we don’t ALWAYS antagonize puss by playfully spinning him in circles. 😉 )

Sometimes we think we sense things….the atmosphere in a room changes. Something just feels a bit “off”.
But almost all of these things we have up until now, kind of thought, “Ok that’s WEIRD.” but when you see your cat spinning in circles on the floor….well, that’s just BEYOND weird.

My daughters in particular, now, are getting pretty creeped out.
The one who saw the cat doing the spinning said “I just don’t want whatever it is trying to spin ME in circles mum!”

Why is that song “You spin me right round baby, right round, like a record baby right round, round round….” stuck in my HEAD!

You gotta laugh.
This is so insane it’s funny.

As I said….
I AM NOT MAKING THIS STUFF UP!

  1. Have you done any investigation into the history of the house? This sounds …alarming…or pretty much shite scary stuff Tracy. I seriously would be looking into seeing if something happened there…. I did laugh at the song that popped in your head though 🙂

It’s not an old house and doesn’t have any history (that the previous owners have told me about) I jut don’t know what to make of it all. Think I may have to start talking to some people who know more about this kind of thing.

Yeah that is freaky!! You probably should checknif weird things went on before you moved into that house. Or if there were weird people doing weird things…shudder.
I love these stories though, I’ve had strange encounters but as scary as they are I still kind of like them.

This couldn’t be a stunt that your son would play on his sister, could it?
You have to be careful with those quiet ones. 😉

Has this type of behavior, that of the paranormal, happened in any of your other abodes?

Is your friend who owns the house reading your blogs?
Is it a one year contract that you have to rent this house?

If so, I would seriously ask hubby to start looking for another rental property.
I’m not sure I’d want to be subjecting my children to these kinds of experiences.

Or could hubby be behind such occurrences?
Perhaps he feels that the daily commute to his office is too much and wants to move closer to his job.

On the other hand, if this is blogger fodder, then it is hilarious. 😆

Can’t wait to hear what’s on hand for tomorrow. 😉

Nobody was home Dan. Hubby loves it here and doesn’t want to move house…..doesn’t believe us when we tell him of these things. I know how strange it sounds. *I* wouldn’t believe it either just hearing it.

Sounds pretty interesting, Tracy! Do you know anything about the history of the house? My husband’s dad and stepmom lived in a 500-year-old schoolhouse for several years, and boy, do they have some stories to tell!

Maybe it’s a nice spirit who just wants to play? ; )

That was my first thought Anne….and has been all along that it is not anything malevolent…just playful. I bet your parents have some interesting stories living in a house with so much history. That would be so cool! This house is so ordinary and normal and not that old. I really don’t think it’s the house itself.

  5. Tracy, if you do not own that house, I would move my happy self and family, and the pets to some other place. That is just over the top eerie. With your daughter’s health problems- I don’t know. I can not comprehend all of that.

Still need to know if your daughter is taking any meds for the arthritis thing. My daughter had to stop the one med that was helping- making her too sick to tolerate the side effects. Email me if you care to and erase this last paragraph. Thanks.

Hi Yvonne, will update you in an email later today. Things have been crazy busy what with new babies being born, birthdays and just the general craziness of life itself 🙂 We actually love where we’re living and are locked into a lease anyway…

  6. Definitely appears that you have some playful spirits in the house that want to get your attention. I have heard a lot of stories over the years and experienced a lot of paranormal activity…but the spinning cat takes the prize! I believe you!
